Street Photography and Documentary Portraiture Workshop

Tom R. Chambers' "Street Photography/Documentary Portraiture" workshop has been revamped as an all-day session in the classroom and on the streets of Austin, Texas - June 5 (Saturday), 2021, 10am-6pm. The cost of the workshop is $149.00.

The workshop, sponsored by Precision Camera in Austin will begin on site (2438 West Anderson Lane, Suite B-4) with a discussion of the history of street photography and showing of street photograph examples; the participants will then move onto the streets of Austin for a 2- to 3-hour documentation process; and then they will return to the classroom at Precision Camera for image analysis/critique and selection for exhibition at Artworks Gallery in Austin. The exhibition will be held July 3 - August 7, 2021.

Chambers states, "By reviewing the work of prominent street photographers who have come before us and who currently work the medium this way, it will give us a sense of humanity and allow us to stay within the historical aspects of this approach, not to mention, help us meet some pointers along the way."
